ABOUT SOCCER CLINIC FOR ALZHEIMERS 2019

We are four friends who love soccer and decided we would like to use our skills and experience to help make a difference in the lives of families dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Last year's inaugural event was such a huge success that we decided to do it again.

Join us for a fun skills & development soccer clinic for kids aged 5-10 on Wednesday, August 7th from 12:00 (noon) – 3:00 pm at the City Two field on City Lane in Beaconsfield.

The registration cost is $20 and all proceeds will be donated through “A Night To Remember” directly to the Alzheimer Society of Montreal.

More than 33,000 Montrealers live with Alzheimer’s disease or a related form of dementia. The number of people living with dementia in Canada is set to increase by 66% within the next 15 years and, as a result, the demand for our support, counselling, respite, and educational services is on the rise. Raising awareness about the importance of fundraising is crucial if we are to be ready for the tsunami that awaits us.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS & COACHES

Hi, my name is Paulina Broady. I am 14 years old and going into ninth grade at Royal West Academy. I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old. I have played intercity soccer for 7 years. I now play for the Pierrefonds Cobras FU-14 AA team. My grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2000. He passed away in 2016. My family started A Night To Remember, an annual gala that has donated over $300,000 to the Alzheimer Society of Montreal, and I would also like to do my part to contribute to this cause.

Hi, my name is Grace Hughes, I am 14 years old and going into ninth grade. I have been playing soccer for 10 years and this is my 7th year playing intercity soccer. I now play for the Pierrefonds Cobras FU-14 AA team.

Hi, my name is Megan Gagliardi and I am 14 years old. I go to West Island College where I will be going into grade nine. I started playing soccer at the age of five and I have been playing intercity soccer for 7 years now. I currently play for the Saint-Lazare Hudson FU-14 AA team.

Hi, my name is Julia Corman and I am 14 years old and going into ninth grade at West Island College. This is my 7th year playing intercity soccer and I currently play for the Lakeshore FU-14 AA team.

SPECIAL GUEST

Physical literacy expert and founder of the Champions For Life Foundation, David Arsenault, will again be on hand with Kaizen (the mascot) to help run the kids through a fun obstacle course warmup to kick off the clinic.
